New growth

Ventured out into the garden for the first time this year today. To be quite honest it is a complete mess out there and it is going to need a hell of a lot of work to make it pretty again.

However i stumbled across some very interesing finds which i thought should be shared, signs of spring approaching!! Or it could just be down to the fact that we have had a very mild winter... but i still got excited!

New growth!! Which means the garden may start to look pretty sometime soon.... i do hope so! Half of the plants that are coming through i am not even sure what they are.. but that adds to the fun of finding out! I have also planted some of the seedlings in the garden too. Hopfully it isn't too early but i was forgetting to look after them in the seed trays so hopfully they will do better out there.

Soon i want to invest in one of those mini green house racks you can get to start growing seeds outside in the sun when the weather gets better. As you can see from the first photo of the garden, there is a lot of room for some vegetables to go in like the runner beans i had last year, i would also like to grow some carrots, brocoli and cucumber, along with the salad leaves too! Oh and some raspberries and onions! I don't think ill do tomatoes again this year, they needed a lot of looking after and didn't really taste that nice in the end.... well thats a lie actually, the cherry tomatoes are lovely but it was the normal ones that were a bit rubbish. I need a timeline for when all of these seeds need to be sewn because ill never remember to do it all otherwise.

I also need to remember to try and sow some grass seed again and hope to god it works a bit better this time round. I am hoping that the spring weather will be a bit kinder to it than the winter wetness was, though there is no promises that spring will be any better!

We also cleared out the shed which was long over due! We went to argos yesterday to buy some plastic storage shelving which has made it look soo much better than before!!

I also decided to bottle the last batch of wine today, it tastes lovely, MUCH better than the first batch!

The only problem is that there was a little bit left over as i ran out of bottles and it seems to have decided to start fermenting again... which could be disasterous if the bottled wine does the same as they will explode! I seriously hope its not going to but to be on the safe side they have been left in the garden for now! I was so proud of myself too as i used the shrink wrap tops to make them pretty and air seal them tight.. so it they do explode i expect they will go with a BANG!! Woops....
