Lovely Bank Holiday!

I'm so tired! It's hard work doing nothing all day!

Though that's not entirely true. After a lazy start to the day drinking coffee and reading in the morning sun, I managed to haul my arse inside and cleaned the kitchen... well most of it, the oven is still on my to-do list! To be honest, I hadn't planned on cleaning on a bank holiday but I was spurred on by Scott pointing out that actually its pretty bad that we fail to handle the cleaning in such a small place!

Anyway moving on; Scott and I dug out some compost!! It was really difficult to get some as it's so compact and I only wanted a small amount.

I am pretty impressed with it! A few sticks not completely broken down and it was a little dry but otherwise it's all good! It was thirteen months ago we sorted the compost bin, and we have added plenty to it since so it has done really well! I have got into the habit recently too of putting the paperless chicken poo in when I clean out the nest boxes. Often it has too much paper stuck to it though so it's not always possible!

My strawberries and fruit trees appreciated it!

As it's been such a glorious day I decided a relaxing afternoon lounging was in order, but couldn't work out how best to get comfy in the garden as we got rid of the loungers last year. I had my heart set on an outdoor beanbag but don't really want to have to store one... as they are pretty huge; so instead I got creative and made myself my own little relaxation area!

excuse my unattractive shorts!

What better way to use the mounds of cardboard in the shed (apart from for the chicken house) than to line the floor with it. The duvet made a great loungy cushion! Though it was a bit hot after a while. Were so lucky to have a south facing garden which means the front of the garden gets the sun all day (unfortunately the back doesn't because of the tree, but i've gone on about in far too many blog posts!). The patio in front of the shed  is the last to lose it in the evening too so I was set!

After Scott telling me to mind my skin as I burn easily guess who's walking round with beetroot arms?!

Ill let him off though, he did wash our new car for the first time!

Anyway, I suppose I better go to bed. Back to the reality of work tomorrow; I just hope its nice in a few weeks time when I have a week off!

Night! x
