I wasn't exactly the lightest or fittest I would have liked to be at the start of pregnancy. at 10 weeks I am taking pictures of my bloated belly, telling myself that I can see a baby bump there! If it wasn't for the fact that I had an early scan I would have sworn I had twins, feeling so huge!!

So far my symptoms have been extreme exhaustion and waves of nausea but no actual sickness. I've been sleeping like a log all night, barely functioning all morning, having very long afternoon naps then falling asleep on the sofa in the evenings. I have been just a fat, lazy flump!!! Even walking the dog has been too much for me. Working 12 hour shifts have been an absolute nightmare; I feel very sorry for everyone who has had to work with me! I've not been the most delightful colleague!

My booking appointment with the midwives was on the 16th May. Now I have my yellow book it all feels a little bit more real, just awaiting my 12 week scan now. Although I don't feel particularly nervous about miscarriage again this time, I definitely think I will relax after the 12 week mark. Then it'll be time to start telling the family!

Being Cautious

First time round we told our parents I was pregnant really early. This only made things more rubbish when we had to tell them the bad news. This time we decided to keep it a bit quieter. I am glad of this as I did have a small post-coital bleed at 7+4 weeks. This time I wasn't scared about the bleed and knew that everything was fine, but still went to the Early Pregnancy Clinic to make sure of that!

It was so bizzare seeing a pregnancy inside me! This little heartbeat fluttering along inside me! The bleeding was from implantation apparently, nothing to worry about unless it got worse or I started cramping!
